Tiller
Innovative UI design for automated investment platform.
While working at Space01 in London-UK, I was introduced to an exciting project for Tiller Investments. As the end client, Tiller sought to create a unique automated investment platform, and I was tasked with developing an innovative UI design that would enhance user experience and engagement.

Background
The client aimed to launch a new automated investment service, enabling users to create and manage investment portfolios online with minimal interaction with Financial Services professionals. The core focus of the online experience was to design a website and web application that facilitated exploration, decision-making based on risk assessment profiles, and seamless onboarding.
UI DESIGN
Pushing UI Design Boundaries for a Modern Investment Platform
As soon as I started, I got involved in various discussions about the project goals. Our aim was to impress, disrupt, and deliver something unconventional yet user-friendly. I contributed significantly to the design exploration, investigating patterns, researching existing solutions, and presenting high-level concepts to the team. Simultaneously, I collaborated with another UX designer who provided the initial core structure of the app and the user onboarding process.
The challenge was to push the boundaries of conventional UI design for a modern investment platform. By exploring a conceptual design that emphasized a memorable user experience, I crafted draggable dials, circles, and other stylized elements that ensured perfect synergy between the brand and user interface. User adoption was crucial, requiring multiple iterations to finalize the design.
User Discovery
New users are guided through an onboarding process upon signing up or during the demo. The platform identifies the user's risk profile based on their choices, allowing users to experiment with parameters and see how their portfolio might perform over time.
I created a series of UI animations in After Effects to demonstrate screen transitions and micro-interactions. The onboarding process includes setting up initial investment deposits and time periods, and then experimenting with adding assets to their portfolio to gauge investment potential.
Portfolio Analysis
Users can expand the graph to full screen for a more detailed view of their investments, providing granular insights.
Asset Analysis
Users can drill down into asset allocation to understand performance, offering valuable insights into risk based on historical performance.
Dashboard
Adopting a mobile-first approach, I designed a dashboard that allows users to easily manage their investment portfolios.
